Should say from the outset that in most positions, it is very tough to get a good indication of how a player will turn out in their rookie year.
Matt Stafford (DET) v Mark Sanchez (NYJ) v Josh Freeman (TB)
I'll pick Stafford to lead the pack. As Detroit rebuilds, he will get an opportunity to lead them to post-season success. He already has a decent feature-back in Smith, Calvin Johnson is one of the best receivers in football, Pettigrew is a rising talent at tight-end and the line will be revamped.
Freeman > Sanchez, the latter has completely folded when put under any pressure.
LeSean McCoy (PHI) v Donald Brown (IND) v Knowshon Moreno (DEN) v Beanie Wells (ARI)
All 4 have shown glimpses, but I think Wells and McCoy will be the handiest long-term.
Hakeem Nicks (NYG) v Percy Harvin (MIN) v Kenny Britt (TEN) v Austin Collie (IND) v Jeremy Maclin (PHI) v Michael Crabtree (SF) v Darius Heyward-Bey (OAK)
Percy Harvin is the pick of the bunch, as he is the most versatile. Every time he gets the football in his hands teams run the risk of giving up a touchdown.
Peria Jerry (ATL) v B.J Raji (GB)
I have to say Raji. Bigger and higher-rated than Jerry, but the latter's injury woes certainly came into consideration also. Green Bay have probably got themselves a franchise nose tackle.
Should point out that Oakland acquired a decent rookie tackle in undrafted free agent Desmond Bryant, from Harvard. 23 tackles and a forced fumble this season.
Tyson Jackson (KC) v Brian Orakpo (WAS) v Aaron Maybin (BUF) v Robert Ayers (DEN)
Of this bunch, Orakpo has certainly shown the most. Maybin and Ayers have been down the depth chart, not able to show a whole lot. Tyson Jackson has been eclipsed by his team-mate Dorsey (himself a former first-round pick) and other rookie ends like Everette Brown of the Panthers and Matt Shaughnessy with the Raiders.
Aaron Curry (SEA) v Brian Cushing (HOU) v Rey Maualuga (CIN) v Clay Matthews (GB) v Larry English (SD) v James Laurinaitis (STL)
I have been impressed by Curry, Cushing, Maualuga, Laurinaitis and Matthews. English is the odd man out, because he was only really drafted as an insurance policy for Shawne Merriman.
As a pass-rusher, Matthews is pick of the bunch. As an all-purpose linebacker, I'd like Laurinaitis or Cushing on my team.
Jairus Byrd (BUF) v Vontae Davis (MIA) v Malcolm Jenkins (NO)
Jenkins is still bogged down on the depth chart, but Davis and (especially) Byrd have been great. Louis Delmas, Patrick Chung and Sherrod Martin deserve mention here.
