Yeah we beat New Mexico 72-0 in week one.

But I can assure you, we won't be having any easy games now that the PAC-10 season begins.

So after the first two weeks it gets harder? Steps up in levels of toughness?

College Football confuses me sooo much Laughing

The first 2-3 weeks, every team plays non-Conference games. Next week though for pretty much every team, their Conference seasons begin. Boise State though are playing Oregon State, that's another massive game as because Boise has a weak Conference (hence winning all their games) they've got to make up for it by playing much tougher non-Conference games (Virginia Tech & Oregon State). Still, they've got to hope that two to three of Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska lose a game or two.

Apart from the game next weekend against Oregon State, Boise State plays easy teams (as they play in a very weak Conference). Still, the fact they beat Wyoming by 17pts more than what Texas did, and Texas were playing at home, shows the Broncos are a top quality team.

We're leading Arizona State 28-24 at HT. Offensively we're going great guns, we've had possession of the ball for less than ten minutes. But defensively we're giving the Sun Devils far too much open space and they're exploiting us. We were down 24-14 with less than three minutes to go in the 2nd Q so hopefully we come out in the 2nd Half and do what we did to Tennessee a couple of weeks back.

4-0 Very Happy.

Won 31-29 over a fast finishing Cincinatti.

UCLA beat the 7th ranked Longhorns 34-12 too. Considered a bit of an upset i think.

#5 Oregon def. Arizona State 42-31

Well we came away with a W, but that's about all it was from the Ducks yesterday. Our defense was very poor yesterday, simply allowing the Sun Devils far too many open spaces. They out gained out us in total offense (597-405) and has a lot more possession. If they hadn't have turned the ball over so much they could have won. Luckily for us, at 24-14 down QB Darren Thomas came up with a couple of big throws and we managed to get two TD's in the last three minutes of the first half. In the second half, it was more of the same. Certainly not a great win, but the progress of Darren Thomas is great to see.

Next up we're hosting Stanford (4-0) in the match of Week 5. The ESPN GameDay crew is coming to Oregon, showing that this is the biggest game of the week. This game will have huge ramifications for not only the PAC-10, but the BCS Championship as well. Stanford thumped Notre Dame on the weekend and they're looking very good. Cardinal QB Andrew Luck, behind that fantastic offensive line is having a great season to date.

Don't think it was a great win. A good win yes, but did it impress the voters? No I wouldn't have thought so. Still, a 13pt win over the Beavers in more than what TCU did on opening day, they won by 9pts.

A bit of an upset would be an understatement. Whoever the idiot was voting Texas the No. 1 team in the country will definitely be eating some humble pie this week. The Longhorns, similar to the Florida Gators have looked far from good in their opening three weeks. As for the Bruins, two impressive wins in a row now. The PAC-10 stocks are only getting better and it's been proven furthermore with the ESPN GameDay crew coming to Oregon for the Ducks vs. Cardinal game this weekend.

#4 Oregon def. #9 Stanford 52-31

WOW. What a performance from Oregon!! We were simply unbelievable yesterday, especially in that 2nd Half which we won 28-0. QB Darren Thomas was brilliant going 20-29 and 255 yards and 3 TD's and rushing for another 117 yards and a TD. Then there was RB LaMichael James, who ran for a simply ridiculous 257 yards and 3 TD's, certainly putting his name up in the discussion for the Heisman Trophy. Probably the most impressive thing to come out of the game was that at the end of the 1st Q we were down 21-3, then outscored the Cardinal 49-10 the rest of the game. Just a super effort. It's also our third comeback win of the season, as we were down early against both Tennessee and Arizona State as well.

Next up we're away to Washington State. The Cougars are currently 1-4, with their only win being a 23-22 win over Montana State.

Yep, that's exactly what it comes down to. They only play 2-3 good teams out of 12 per season. Look at the three teams in front of them in the Polls, Alabama, Ohio State and Oregon. They played in the best three Conferences in College Football. Those being the SEC, Big 10 and PAC-10.

They were on TV against Oregon State last weekend and won 37-24. That was a good one to watch. They probably won't be on TV for a while now.

#3 Oregon def. Washington State 43-23

A win over the hapless Cougars but not good news at all in regards to injuries. QB Darren Thomas was taken off in the 1st Quarter with a shoulder injury and then RB Kenyon Barner was knocked out later on. Nate Costa filled the void left by Thomas going 13/15 and 151 throwing 1 TD whilst LaMichael James led the rushing with 2 TD's and 136 yards. Jeff Maehl also had ten receptions and 119 yards for 1 TD.

It's probably a good thing we've got the week off now as the injuries to Thomas and Barner are very concerning. Hopefully both are OK as next up we've got UCLA at home on Friday week (it's ESPN's Thursday Night Prime-time game), then at USC the week after.

I think will go to No. 2 in the new Rankings tomorrow as the win wasn't that impressive, with Ohio State No. 1.

Alabama after their loss today to South Carolina, surely they go at least 7th or 8th.

I think with Oklahoma having the bye this week, they'll fall to No. 8 or something like that, Auburn will move up one or two spots to No. 6 or 7 and Alabama will be one or the other as well.

It'll look something like this:

#1 Ohio State
#2 Oregon
#3 Boise State
#4 TCU
#5 Nebraska
#6 Auburn
#7 Alabama
#8 Oklahoma
#9 Utah
#10 Arkansas
#11 LSU
#12 South Carolina
#13 Stanford

Shit's gonna hit the fan if Alabama don't drop below TCU and Boise State. As Lou Holtz said on BSPN today, it would go against the argument of the BCS apologists: "we don't need playoffs because we already have a playoff, it's called the season."

Alabama were comprehensively defeated, ergo they have to drop. Based on strength of schedule, they can work their way back up if they return to winning ways. But until then, the undefeated teams deserve top billing. You can only beat the teams you're scheduled to play against; you shouldn't have to beat ignorant, biased voters too.

EDIT: I'll give props to LSU for beating the Gators on the road. Terrence Toliver had a hell of a game; that winning touchdown catch was a hell of a play. No wonder he's sky-high on a lot of draft boards. Michigan State and Florida State deserve a shout-out too.

Oh, and was great to see the Golden Bears flog UCLA. Shane Vereen is fantastic.

Almost a shame Oklahoma had a bye this week, a win with Alabama losing wouldve propelled us (Razz) up the rankings a little bit I think.
Bit of a surprise that Bama did lose, from what I read about it today they were pretty bad so credit has to go to South Carolina.
