As for the rest of the unbeaten teams, can't say I'm surprised at all by any of the results, apart from Air Force getting so close to Utah as they did.

In my ESPN Pick Ems', I had Iowa over Michigan State for 9pts, so really, while I was surprised the Hawkeyes blew the Spartans away so early, the fact they won to me was easy. That Iowa Hawkeyes team is a very, very good football team. I do think they will win the Big 10 title, like I predicted before the season started. I really don't know how they lost to the Badgers, that shouldn't have happened.

The other game that didn't surprise me was Nebraska beating Missouri. Again, the Tigers win over the Sooners last week was vastly overrated, just like the Big 12 is. It really baffles me how the computers love the Big 12 so much. First it was Oklahoma being ranked No. 1 in the initial BCS Rankings, then it was seeing Missouri being bumped up so high because of their computer ranking. The only team I really rate are the Cornhuskers, and like Iowa, I really don't now how they lost to Texas. That shouldn't have happened either. Nebraska should win out and go to the Big 12 Championship Game. Who they'll face? It's between Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and currently the leaders of the Big 12 South Baylor. Personally, I do like the Sooners, I think of the three, they're the most talented.

Credit to the Auburn Tigers for doing what Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma couldn't do, and that was, winning when being the new No. 1 team in the country. Cam Newton, a quiet game by his standards, but his Heisman Trophy stocks continue to soar. Barring some sort of miracle, he'll be the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner.

4-0 at home, 0-4 on the road.

Needless to say I'm concerned of our visit to Berkeley in two weeks.

I'm just going to start off by saying, we're finally #1!!! Grin

About time we got some love from the computers as it is the reason we are the new #1 team in the country. The win over USC was a quality win, and anyone that says it isn't is simply an idiot. The Trojans played a fantastic game, they executed for three quarters, but we wore them down like we did Stanford, Arizona State and many others.

Can't understand why Stanford is getting no love. They're simply beating up on teams. They also beating Washington by more than Nebraska did, and it was a shutout win. I guess they'll get that love if they beat Arizona this weekend in what is a huge PAC-10 game.

TCU passing Boise State also isn't surprising. If thee Horned Frogs can beat the Utes in Utah this weekend, then I expect TCU to remain ahead of the Broncos for the remainder of the season. Whether that means a place in the BCS National Championship Game, I don't think so as they don't control their destiny like Oregon, Auburn and Alabama do.

Bring on this weeks game, some absolute crackers.

Week 10 of College Football is absolutely massive, and one more undefeated team WILL go down this week.

In the biggest match of the week, the non-AQ match-up between #3 TCU @ #5 Utah. There's also #7 Alabama @ #10 LSU and #15 Arizona @ #13 Stanford.

Here are my predictions:

#3 TCU vs. #5 Utah: The implications for this game are HUGE. The winner keeps their BCS National Championship hopes alive, the loser will more than likely miss out on a BCS Bowl. The Utes have won 21 games in a row at home, while the Horned Frogs will be out to avenge for their loss in 2008 which was the last time these two teams played in Utah. The rest was a 13-10 win for the Utes, who went on to post their second undefeated season of the decade, which included a win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. I've gone with TCU in this game. I think the Horned Frogs D is simply fantastic, as has been shown over the past 4-5 games, and Andy Dalton should be able to overcome the raucous crowd in Utah. TCU 17-14 Utah.

#7 Alabama vs. #10 LSU: Another massive game, this one in the SEC. The Crimson Tide know that if they win out, which means beating LSU, Auburn and winning the SEC Championship Game, they should jump Boise State and either TCU/Utah and go into the BCS National Championship Game. They control their own destiny. The game in Baton Rouge will be very tough, and RB's Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson will have a hard time getting yards against the LSU D, which is very good against the run. In saying that, the Tigers issues at QB are a huge problem, thus I think Alabama get a vital W. Alabama 23-10 LSU.

#15 Arizona vs. #13 Stanford: The big game in the PAC-10 this week. The winner of this game should finish second in the PAC-10 behind Oregon, although unlike the Cardinal, the Wildcats do control their own destiny as they still have to face the Ducks, in Eugene. Arizona will also be boosted by the news that star QB Nick Foles will play, although they're coming up against a Stanford team that's led by Heisman Trophy candidate Andrew Luck. I like the Cardinal to get up in this one, their D is impressive enough and they should be able to contain a rusty Foles to some degree. Andrew Luck on the other hand will be hoping to boost not only his Heisman Trophy stocks, but his potential NFL Draft stocks. Stanford 41-27 Arizona.

As for my #1 Oregon Ducks (boy do I love saying it too), we're hosting the Washington Huskies, minus Jake Locker as well. If we don't win by 50+ points, I'll be very disappointed. I want a belting, I want up to run up the score against our hated rivals!! Grin

#1 Oregon def. Washington 53-16

It wasn't pretty, but it's another W and takes us one step closer to the BCS National Championship Game in Glendale.

For the almost the first three quarters, the Huskies were right with us playing some fantastic D and considering starting QB Jake Locker wasn't playing, back-up QB Keith Price did a pretty good job leading the offense. At one point, we were only up 25-16. But of course, our ability to wear out teams down the stretch and score quickly made the win look even better than our performance suggests.

Darren Thomas threw for 243 yards on 24/33 and a TD, plus rushed for another two TD's. LaMichael James rushed for three TD's to boost his Heisman Trophy stocks, although he only ran for 121 yards.

Next up is a trip to Berkeley to face CAL, a team that scares me greatly. At home the Golden Bears are 4-0 this season and their average winning margin is almost 40 points per game, it's just on the road they suck, they're 1-4 after winning their first game on the road today. This is a team that is also 37-4 at home over their past 41 games. It's going to be a very, very tough game and I remember the last time we played in Berkeley, it was a wet windy day and massive game for both teams, and we failed to show up, with CAL winning 26-16. I'm certainly hoping there's no repeat effort of the game in 2008.

Go Ducks!!!

Three steps to go.

In the other notable games today, many teams National Championship hopes are over, and some have come into the picture.

- The TCU Horned Frogs have got to win the award for most impressive team of the day. They went to Utah, a team that went into the game having won 21 straight games at home, and absolutely thumped them to the tune of 47-7. This wasn't a statement to the Utah Utes, this was a statement by the TCU Horned Frogs that while they're a non-AQ team, they can compete with anyone. The Andy Dalton of 2010 is 1-2 gears better than the AD of 2009. Dalton threw for 355 yards today, and three TD's going 21/26. Surely he'd have to be at the very least, in the Heisman Trophy discussion for minor placings. The Horned Frogs D is the best in the nation. They've kept one of the best offenses in the nation (third going into the game) to just 7pts. They've also kept their last six opponents to a measly 23pts total. If one of Auburn or Oregon lose and TCU wins out, they will go to Glendale.

- Any hope the Alabama Crimson Tide had of trying to win back-to-back BCS National Championships is now gone. The 24-21 loss to the now 8-1 LSU Tigers is the end for 'Bama. Twice today coach Les Miles went for it and it worked out wonders for LSU. Alabama led 14-13 early in the 4th Q when LSU faced fourth-and-1 from the Tide's 26. Rather than attempting a field goal or running up the middle, Miles called for a reverse that resulted in TE Deangelo Peterson's 23-yard carry. Peterson's play set up Stevan Ridley's 1-yard touchdown carry that put LSU ahead. And when LSU led 24-21 and faced third-and-13 from its 20 on its final series after an injury to starting QB Jordan Jefferson, Miles didn't play it safe. Backup QB Jarrett Lee threw a game-clinching completion to Rueben Randle. The guy has balls, and it keeps whatever slim hopes LSU have of going to Glendale themselves, although they'll need Auburn to lose either to Georgia, Alabama or preferably, in the SEC Championship Game.

- The Stanford Cardinal juggernaut keeps on rolling. I thought they would beat Arizona today, but I didn't think it would be by four TD's. It was a complete performance, from what I think is the best 1-loss team in the country. This Stanford team has scored at least 31pts in all of it's games this season, the only problem what that Oregon put up 52pts on them in Eugene. Still, this Cardinal team doesn't get the love it should, and coach Jim Harbaugh is doing quite the job. As for Arizona, they're 7-2 and it's been a great season, hopefully they can finish the season pretty strong, apart from going to Eugene and beating the Ducks.

- The pretenders were found out again this week. Again it was the Big 12 teams. Oklahoma and Missouri losing again, and Nebraska needing OT to get past Iowa State.

A shame really. Can't believe more people don't embrace it, especially when it's a much better product than the NFL.

Unless you're doing line betting, there's really no point betting on College Football games. Boise State would have been paying $1.01 or $1.02 for sure.

The only way you're going to get it is by watching the games though and hearing what they speak about. Once you get your head around it, there's not much better than College Football.

Oh you don't have Foxtel? Well that makes it just about impossible.

One HD would show an SEC game last season, but that's disappeared this season.

I haven't posted in here for almost three weeks, but the MASSIVE news out of today is that #4 Boise State suffered it's first loss of the season, going down 34-31 at Nevada in OT. Not only that, the Broncos were up 24-7 at one point, and their kicker Kyle Brotzman missed a FG with two seconds left which would have won them the game (a 26 yard kick), then missed a 29 yard FG in OT. The Wolfpack went down the other end and won a thrilling game. It ends any slim hopes Boise State had of going to the BCS National Championship Game, it ends their slim Rose Bowl hopes, it ends their BCS title game hopes and it ends any hope of QB Kellen Moore winning the Heisman Trophy, even though for those two missed FG's he made two throws of plus 50 yards to get them into FG territory.

As for today's other games, #2 Auburn fought back from a 24-0 defecit at #11 Alabama to win 28-27. Again it was Heisman Trophy favorite Cam Newton doing it all. He threw for 3TD's and rushed for another as the Tigers won the Iron Bowl and kept their BCS National Championship Game hopes alive. My Oregon Ducks had a little easier time, beating #21 Arizona 48-29 although at HT we were behind 19-14. Thankfully, like we do in most games, we wore the Wildcats out and our offense led by QB Darron Thomas and RB LaMichael James were able to get going. It means that we need to win our last game of the season, at rivals Oregon State in the Civil War game to go to the BCS National Championship Game in Glendale, Arizona. As for Auburn, they face South Carolina in the SEC Championship Game needing a win to go to the Championship Game.

SEC Championship Game: #1 Auburn def. #19 South Carolina 56-17

Talk about a statement from the #1 team in the country!! The Auburn Tigers absolute smashed the Gamecocks in Georgia Dome today. Cam Newton, just give him the Heisman Trophy now. Newton threw for 4 TD and 335 yards on 17/28 whilst also rushing for another 2 TD's. WR Darvin Adams also had a day out, with 217 receiving yards and 2 TD's. The Tigers will go to Glendale, Arizona as the #1 team in the country - and rightly so - and favorites against the Oregon Ducks.

Civil War: #2 Oregon def. Oregon State 37-20

We're going to the BCS National Championship Game in Glendale, Arizona!!! Grin

After a tough first quarter, the Ducks pulled away and will join the Auburn Tigers in Glendale, Arizona. RB duo - LaMichael James & Kenjon Barner - rushed for 267 between themselves, with James going for 134 yards and 2 TD's on 28 carries and Barner 133 yards and 1 TD off just 15 carries. QB Darron Thomas also had a good game, throwing 2 TD's on 14/24. What the Ducks have achieved is going to their first BCS National Championship Game ever, and they also went through the PAC-10 undefeated, something USC only did once during all their dominant years.

Big 12 Championship Game: #9 Oklahoma def. #13 Nebraska 23-20

After a fairly high scoring first half, it was all about the defense for both teams in the second half as only two field goals were scored, both from the Sooners. The problem for the Cornhuskers was that they simply couldn't get their offense going in the second half. QB Taylor Martinez got sacked time and time again, whereas the Sooners were able to convert a couple of field goals in the second half. Oklahoma also came back from a 17-0 deficit and will now go to the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl to play either Stanford or Connecticut. Must say too, I really enjoyed this game. I only got to see the second half after work, but I loved seeing both offenses trying to overcome strong D from the opposition. The Cornhuskers would be feeling it after coming so close in last years Big 12 Championship Game as well.

ACC Championship Game: #15 Virginia Tech def. #21 Florida State 44-33

The Hokies are off to the Orange Bowl after winning the ACC Championship Game. After starting the season 0-2, the Hokies have done remarkably well to win 11 consecutive games. It's a case of what might have been had they have held off Boise State and didn't lose in probably the upset of the season to James Maddison. Still, in the grand scheme of things, the Orange Bowl was about the best they were ever going to do. Tyrod Taylor had a massive game for the Hokies, throwing for 263 yards and 3 TD's.

Big East: The Connecticut Huskies are through to a BCS Bowl Game after a 19-16 win over South Florida. They can thank kicker Dave Teggart, who made a 52 yard kick with just 17 seconds left on the clock. The teams unlucky to miss out being West Virginia and also Pittsburgh, who also finished 5-2 in Big East play.

What this now means:

BCS National Championship Game: #1 Auburn vs. #2 Oregon

Rose Bowl: # 3 TCU (Non-AQ) vs. #5 Wisconsin (Big Ten champion)

Fiesta Bowl: #9 Oklahoma (Big 12 champion) vs. #4 Stanford (automatic BCS berth)/Connecticut (Big East champion)

Sugar Bowl: #7 Arkansas (At Large) vs. #6 Ohio State (At-Large)

Orange Bowl: #15 Virginia Tech (ACC champion) vs. #4 Stanford (automatic BCS berth)/Connecticut (Big East champion)

I'd be stunned if Stanford plays in the Orange Bowl. Their fans simply won't travel that far. To play in the Fiesta Bowl would be a wise move as that game in also in Glendale, Arizona, which isn't that far. It also makes more sense for Connecticut to be playing in the Orange Bowl as it's less travel for them too.
