Right,

With Inglis, Hodges, josh morris and folau not being available for selection who are your australian centres?

Most of us will agree that lyon will get one of the positions but who will partner him. Just read on foxsports that gasnier is a chance which took me at a bit of surprise.

If the Dragons make the grand final and Gasnier plays well, he'll be favourite ahead of Penrith's Michael Jennings for the centre position in Australia's top 17-man squad.

I would love to see gaz back in the green and gold but i dont think he is ready just yet. However, he has shown some great defence and is starting to get that flare in attack back.

With jennings we know how great he is if he gets the ball early enough. He has game breaking ability that is hard to go past and of course there is always tonga that could easily fill the position.

So what is your australian centre partnering?

I'd definitely give it to Willie Tonga, he's proven he can handle rep footy and seen most of the team will be QLDers, Tonga would work well with them.

I think it will be Lyon & Jennings, maybe Gaz if he has a good finals run.

But personally I would like to see an all QLD centre pairing of Tonga and Tate. Smile

for mine i dont really rate tonga. Dont get me wrong he is a good player but he doesnt seem to be that elite player that many make him out to be.

at this stage i would probably got lyon and jennings but if gasnier does have a good finals run it puts a bit of pressure on the selectors

God save us if Lyon and Gasnier are the centres.
Most over rated centre combination in history Laughing

I definitely wouldn't call Lyon an overrated player personally.

No way is Lyon over rated, I don't think some people realise just how good he is for us, such a classy player with great attack and defence.

I'd probably pair him with Tonga, even though I don't think he's what people make him out to be he has shown he can handle the pressures of rep footy with QLD. Brent Tate could also be a good option.

This will be a tough won for the selectors.

As a Cows fan i obviously want Tonga there... as Hendo Maroon has already said, he has proven that he can handle rep footy and will work well with the other QLDer's in the team.

Jennings is great in attack, not to keen on him in defence though.

I'd also like to see Tate there, big game player and has done it all before.

I would love to see Tate and Tonga. But I think we will see Jennings/Tonga and Lyon. Not that I want Lyon there, overrated as F***

imo Gaz isn't ready just yet. If Gaz does get selected, I think it will probably be based on the player he used to be. (Not that he isn't any good now)

I'd go Tonga. He has shown us that he can perform at Origin level, and has a better defensive game than Jennings.

I don't think the team will be dominated by qlders, the backline won't be, odds on hayne Lyon Jennings and Morris will all be in the team and with the great form carney is in he may well very be drafted into the halves. In tue forwards Lewis is a certainty, and tll weyman and a host of other nsw players would definitely be in the mix especially with sheens being the coach and no broncos storm or nq in the finals

1. Slater
2. Boyd
3. Tonga
4. Lyon
5. Morris/Hayne
6. Lockyer/Carney
7. Thurston/Prince
8. Civo
9. Smith
10. Scott
11. Thaiday
12. Lewis
13. Gallen

14. Carney/Cronk
15. Hannant
16. Weyman
17. Learoyd-Larhs/Watmough

Unsure if Thurston and Lockyer will be fit? If not the second options are the ones I'd go with.

I'd like to see

1. Slater
2. Boyd
3. Lyon
4. Jennings (Even I as a NQ supporter can't justify Tonga's spot as a starting centre)
5. Hayne
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston
8. Petro
9. Smith
10. Shillington
11. Myles
12. Thaiday
13. Lewis

14. Carney
15. Scott
16. Gallen
17. TLL

I think we'll see

1. Slater
2. Morris
3. Lyon
4. Jennings (Even I as a NQ supporter can't justify Tonga's spot as a starting centre)
5. Hayne
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston/Cronk depending on if JT is fit
8. Petro
9. Smith
10. Shillington
11. Myles
12. Thaiday
13. Lewis

14. Gidley
15. Weyman
16. Gallen

Holy Crap 4 games, are you serious, he played well for four games in a row, someone get him a sticker..... Rolling Eyes

Please, no way in hell does Gasnier deserve a test spot based off four games in a row, not over players that have actually been loyal to our code and been in the NRL ALL SEASON, some of whom have played considerably more than FOUR good games.

The only way Gasnier should get a spot in the test side is if all of Lyon, Jennings, Tonga and Tate all get injured or rubbed out through suspension or something.
