Ripia's signed with the Rebels so nothing there. Will be Barrett probably...

Perenise over Jacob Ellison? Hasn't he signed with the Highlanders anyway?

Andre Taylor over Alapati Leiua, David Smith and Julian Savea? Big call there bro...

No room for James Broadhurst?

BIG Question...will So'oialo actually be up to it?

Considering their drafting - try to pick the Highlanders! :S

1. Mackintosh
2. Rutledge
3. King/Newland
4. Berkuist (is that the right guy?)
5. Donelly
6. Thomson
7. Soakai
8. Manu
9. Cowan
10. Slade
11. ??
12. Haywood
13. Smith
14. Lynn
15. Horton

I imagine they'll do a lot of drafting again, plus I don't know the otago/southland teams well enough to predict many of the positions.

Loosies is interesting potentially, Thomson and Soakai would probably be automatic selections, but the other position could be up for grabs. I'd love to see a 6/7/8 of Soakai/Boys/Thomson to just wreck havoc at the breakdown Smile

Oh didn't realise Perenise and Ripia were going elsewhere.

Broadhurst will battle with Evans for the bench spot.

It is a big call for that winger spot but I think it's really between Smith and Taylor, all though the other 2 are quality. Have chosen Buckman on the bench (because he's the man) as he is extremely versatile.

I hope Rodney has another season in him, don't really know who'd go at 8 if he wasn't maybe Vito and Levave moving to 6. Mike Coman from the Magpies has had a pretty good season in the 8, maybe he'd be a slight chance.

Yeah if Rodney's not there it will almost certainly be Levave at 6 and Vito at 8.

Here's what I reckon the inaugural Rebels side will be...not an easy side to name.

1. Laurie Weeks
2. Adam Freier
3. Greg Sommerville
4. Kevin O'Neill
5. Adam Byrnes
6. Jarrod Saffy
7. Tom Chamberlain
8. Gareth Delve
9. Sam Cordingley
10. Danny Cipriani
11. Cooper Vuna
12. Stirling Mortlock
13. Lachie Mitchell
14. Mark Gerrard
15. Julian Huxley

16. Ged Robinson
17. Nic Henderson/Rodney Blake
18. Alistair Campbell
19. Michael Lipman
20. Richard Kingi
21. James Hilgendorf
22. Afusipa Taumoepeau

Left Right Out: Luke Rooney

Shaping up to be a pretty decent backline, full of experience. The forward pack looks a bit weak though. They are going to rely heavily on Cipriani and Mortlock if they are going to get anywhere this season. Will be very interested to see how Jarrod Saffy goes.

REDS:

1. Ben Daley
2. Saia Faingaa
3. James Slipper
4. Rob Simmons
5. James Horwill
6. Scott Higginbotham
7. Jake Schatz
8. Leroy Houston
9. Will Genia
10. Quade Cooper
11. Rod Davies
12. Anthony Faingaa
13. Will Chambers
14. Digby Ioane
15. Peter Hynes

17. Greg Holmes/Guy Shepherdson
18. Radike Samo/Van Humphries

Stong side on paper, our depth will also be a lot better next season. If we have some luck with injuries etc I think we'll do quite well in the Aussie Conference.
