NRL Tipping 2011

It's back for another exciting NRL season. NRL tipping will be bigger and better than ever this season, with a few changes.

Anyone is welcome to join in the fun. So get amongst it!

Scoring guidelines:
- 7 points for picking a draw
- 5 points for picking a game to go into golden point
- 3 points for picking the correct margin
- 2 points for picking the the correct winning team
- Double points for Test matches, Origins, City v Country and finals

Playing Rules:
- People who join after Round 1 are given the average score to start off with.
- You can edit your tips at anytime before each match, but you must do so in a new post/quote your previous post or notify me of an edit.
- If you haven’t posted your tips before the first match of the round, then you can still post tips for the remaining matches.
- If you fail to tip for three consecutive weeks, you will be removed from the game
- The margins you may tip are 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31+.
- You must tip the winner of each match in order to get the margin. If you pick the incorrect winning team, and you get the correct margin, you do not get any points.
- The suitable tipping format would be as follows: Broncos vs Cowboys (6-10), with the winner in bold.
- You may tip TWO, that's right, TWO games to go into golden point this season. But if the first game you select to go into golden point does occur, the second game you have chosen will not be valid.
- You may have two lifelines. You can use these at any time to gain an extra ten points if you are falling behind, or just want to get closer to the leader
- If myself, or anyone else catches a participant cheating, you will have fifteen points taken off your overall score. If you are caught a second time, you will immediately be removed from the game.

Scoring has been altered a bit this season, mainly for a chance for more points.
Picking a draw you will get 7 points. A draw is very rare, so if anyone can predict it, then they deserve some good points.
5 points for picking a game to go into golden point. Was 4 last season
3 points for the correct margin. Was 2 last season
2 points for picking the victor. Was 1 last season.

Now I'd like to know people's ideas on the margin situation. Some didn't like the idea last season, where you got the margin, even if you tipped the incorrect winning team. Maybe for the next 5 days we can discuss who is in favour of keeping it, or only giving the points out if you tip the correct winner.

Surely it would be logical to only be awarded the margin if you pick the winner. A: because it's a tipping comp and not a guessing comp, and B; because it just makes sence.

yea in as long as we do what Ashes said. If you don't pick the right team then you shouldn't get any points.

Yes i totally agree. I just wanted some people's opinion on the topic.
