Benifit yourselves, Benefit the game.
Every player's dream is to play for the elite two teams in the competition; Australia & New Zealand.
But this is stopping the game from Expanding, Ultimately Australia can
hold firm without the likes of Civoniceva, Uate, Jennings, Tuqiri or any
other player who is eligible to play for Australia.
New Zealand would be weakened further more but you see Maori plays such
as Clinton Toopi still offering solid service and Jason Nightingale who
is one of the best wingers in the competition. Both their halves in
Foran and Marshall are both Maori heritage as is emerging hooker Issac
Luke and utility Lance Hohaia, Let's not forget the likes of Josh
Hoffman or even the once dubbed best fullback in the world Brent Webb
from 2002-2003 who is still playing good in england.
Why rue emerging nations of being competitive. That is why the International game has no taste to it anymore.
Fiji is the one's who should really be asking questions. The likes of
Jarryd Hayne, Akuila Uate, John Sutton, Lote Tuqiri and Petero
Civoniceva as well as the Sims boys, namely Tariq who is one of the best
upcoming forwards in the game. Also namely the Naiqama brothers who
isn't really a selection threat but just throwing names around to boost
It's once every four seasons, Is it really much of an ask for the game
to be known as the Heritage game for a month every four years?.
I am aware of the urge to play for Australia, It's where they live and
alot of them where they grew up, But the Four Nations and Trans Tasman
Test SHOULD be exempt from this.
Players either have to be ready to give up Origin for the World Cup or the NRL needs to change that rule.
