Yeah Zac thrown a pity start with Kahui and Jane out injured Smile

Don't wish ill on the boy but I still maintain he didn't deserve to be there, even before Brisbane. Actually disappointed they're persevering with Slade on the bench - would've loved Weepu given another run at 10 as I do NOT want Slade on the field in a KO match.

Glad Mils gets a run and a chance to prove himself given Dagg's electric form.

England are making a comeback against Scotland, and right now are only trailing by 12 points to nine. No tries have been scored yet, but with Scotland needing to win, in order to have a chance of making the quarter-finals, this should be a great last 15 minutes.

So were playing the Boks. F***

Also, well done to Tonga for beating France. Is that one of the biggest upsets of all time?

Bakkies Botha is apparently 100% fit and will play this weekend. Yay!! Bakkies is such a liability. glad PDV has insisted on keeping bakkies. also hope pdv starts bismark. bismark is definately 2nd string to smit. smit does more tight5 work and has a more accurate throw.

aus vs boks will be an epic struggle. whichever team comes through will be at least 10 times better (bar injuries) for the SF

argentina is exactly the kind of team the AB's need to play against. strong in the forwards and backs lead by an experienced captain in contemponi. hopefully AB's will win it, evolve and improve even more, especially slade who needs a quick crash course in finding his center and playing/dictating his game.

New Zealand - 15 Mils Muliaina, 14 Cory Jane, 13 Conrad Smith, 12 Ma’a Nonu,11 Sonny Bill Williams, 10 Colin Slade, 9 Piri Weepu, 8 Kieran Read, 7 Richie McCaw (c), 6 Jerome Kaino, 5 Sam Whitelock, 4 Brad Thorn, 3 Owen Franks, 2 Keven Mealamu, 1 Tony Woodcock.
Subs: 16 Andrew Hore, 17 Ben Franks, 18 Ali Williams, 19 Victor Vito, 20 Jimmy Cowan, 21 Aaron Cruden, 22 Isaia Toeava.

is dagg injured?
no choice but to give cruden a quick run to see where he is. this is not ITM and the game is infinately faster with less time and space.
Piri to start, risky. hope he's got a full tank for the entire game.
mils gets a shot. shot.
other than hore starting and mealamu on the bench cant argue with this forward pack. i reckon its our best starting pack.
like vito on the bench, suits a forward game better than thompson.
would much prefer kahui on the bench but ice does need a run.

Yeah Dagg and Kahui injured as well as Guildford.

Richie's also very dodgy with his foot and I reckon will be crocked before the end of the WC.

Wales are up 10-3 after half an hour, with Shane Williams scoring a third minute try for the Welsh. The match was really free-flowing early on, but it has settled down a bit at the moment.

Six minutes left in Wales v Ireland, and with Wales leading by 12, Ireland need two quick tries if they are to have any chance,

Ireland were just completely toothless on attack against the solid Welsh defence - and without their scrum and breakdown dominance that they enjoyed against Australia they really didn't have a chance - even the try they did get was due to shocking Welsh defence more than anything. Tommy Bowe broke the line almost at will but that was about it - also their kicking was absolutely horrendous, virtually always at the wrong time and without the required accuracy.

I wonder if england went into their game a bit too cocky because they really were fast asleep for most of it. the wilkinson/flood combo was useless and really didn't help them at all; leaving Tuilagi to do all the linebreaking themselves. French once again running on passion more than anything else and they won't have that edge against the Welsh.

Argentina played well tonight, pushed the rules to the edge IMO. Cant wait till next sundays game, I think the winner of the tournament will come from that game.

1. Woodcock
2. Hore
3. O Franks
4. Thorn
5. Williams
6. Kaino
7. McCaw
8. Read
9. Weepu
10. Cruden
11. Kahui
12. Nonu
13. Smith
14. Jane
15. Dagg

16. B Franks
17. Mealamu
18. Whitelock
19. Vito
20. Cowan
21. SBW
22. Toeava/Muliaina

I hope we take that team into next weeks game. Hopefully Kahui and Dagg are fit to start and we get B Franks back on the bench. Matfield got the upper hand over the Aussie's tonight, Williams experience could help us in the tight 5. I think Weepu/Cruden can do the 80 and if 1 of them went down, Cowan could come in.

so i dunno about anyone else, but Phil Kearns commentating the Wallabies and Grant Fox commentating the All Blacks gives me the shits! They're so biased it's ridiculous!!!!!

Just want to watch the match with neutral...normal commentary, not the ridiculous one-eyed criticism of the refs

All Blacks were good, but the scoreline flatters them a lot

Australia was shit, can't really figure out how we won...

Grin Get in!! What an epic, epic encounter - heroic defensive performance from the men in Gold. In terms of possession and territory it was complete domination from the 'Boks. David Pocock was huge, remarkable performance - easily MOTM. Elsom, Samo and Big Kev were also pretty good up front and JOC was the standout back for mine. McCabe also deserves a mention, showed real courage and had one of his best games in a Gold jersey.

So pumped we're through but honestly still can't believe we won that one, bring on next weekend.

Who would have thought Wales up against France would be one of the SF's? On current form you would assume the Welsh will start as favourites but as we know the French are capable of anything on their day.

All Blacks played bad but not as bad as the Wallabies or Boks did.

Very lucky win for the Wallabies, didn't deserve it.

Ended up missing the whole SA/Aus match due to trouble getting the kids to bed which I'm really gutted about but oh well. Well done Aus - when I found it was going to be dry weather rather than the originally-forecast rain I thought they'd win it but damn they made hard going of it.

NZ/Arg - geez, Aus will have watched that defensive effort and licked their lips in anticipation for their chance to do the same thing. Vindication for a few ABs though:
- Weepu has gone from not good/fit enough for many people to probably the most indispensable player in the squad. He lasted over 70 minutes and looked like he could've gone longer, ran the game incredibly well in, frankly, a carter-esque manner, kicked almost flawlessly including a couple of tricky sideline shots, and controlled everything fantastically
- Cruden looked far more composed and confident than Slade, even before Slade copped his injury. He put in a very solid hour's effort and could have a great shot at starting next weekend - does Henry have the balls to make that call if Slade's fit?
- Jane had a massive game and looked very dangerous throughout - his ability to manage that last offload for Thorne's try was absolute vintage.
- Vito - not so much his own effort, but he should feel vindicated for his "mistake" in Sydney last year which has finally been proven to have been Read's fault; not only did the after-match panel say "he's known to do that" (referring to Read going too wide from the scrum) but Mat Gitaeu right-out said that he was the reason McCalman got through in that game.

On that note - did you see Giteau's face when Ian Jones was talking about Deans making a "masterstroke" in making Horwill Captain? Priceless...

Next weekend should be an epic encounter and damned if I can pick a winner - it will go to whoever can dominate the breakdown and I just hope to god that the ABs can bring some passion into the game because that's what won it for the Wallabies in Brisbane.

Australia were very lucky to get the win against the Boks but in saying that their defence was brilliant. Cooper was terrible once again. South Africa will be very upset that they couldn't make the most of their chances. Thought that the All Blacks looked alright, nothing special yet though. The Canes boys seem to be playing well this World Cup, Nonu, Weepu and Jane! Can't wait to have some of them at the Blues next season. How good is next week going to be, Australia against the All Blacks - winner will win the tournament for sure!
