Yeah Cleary highly likely to be the coach of the panthers in 2012.

Yep. If we miss out on Ivan, it'll be Rick Stone. So now we know, it's either Cleary or Stone that'll be in charge of the Panthers next year.

Matthew Elliott has today stepped down as Penrith's coach effective immediately. Steve Georgallis to take over for the remainder of the year.

Good luck to Matt Elliott, I'm sure he can easily find a job somewhere in the media.

From Twitter, it says that Daine Laurie has been sacked because of disciplinary reasons.

Thank the Lord. Today is a happy day for all Penrith supporters. Matt Elliott gone and now Laurie.

Penrith Panthers skipper Petero Civoniceva has been named the 2011 Harvey Norman Women in League Favourite Son, accepting the award in front of 200 women at Sydney’s annual Harvey Norman Women in League lunch.

Five thousand women from across the game voted for the award, which is presented to a player who acts as a role model to younger players and whose off-field characteristics embody the true values of the Rugby League community.

The smiling giant, who is the most capped Test forward in Australian Rugby League history, emerged the clear winner from a stellar list of nominees including Darren Lockyer (Brisbane Broncos), Alan Tongue (Canberra Raiders), Andrew Ryan (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs), Cameron Smith (Melbourne Storm), Kurt Gidley (Newcastle Knights), Nathan Merritt (South Sydney Rabbitohs) and Preston Campbell (Gold Coast Titans).

One of NRL's true gentlemen. Gotta love him.

Not official confirmation as of yet, but I'm starting to have my doubts about it now. This signing 'rumour' has dragged on for too long now.

Travis Burn's season appears over after tearing his bicep and a possible broken hand. If M.E. was still in charge he would of played Lewis at 6, but now under the guidance of Steve Georgallis, I think now's the time to blood some future first graders, either Austin or Siejka.

Panthers always seem to beat us up at Dairy Farmers Stadium. I reckon you guys lose more when Lewis is out then what we do when JT is out. If we defend we should win.

Official Round 21 Side to take on Cowboys

1. David Simmons 2. Ryan Walker 3. Michael Jennings 4. Brad Tighe 5. Adrian Purtell 6. Harry Siejka 7. Luke Walsh 8. Tim Grant 9. Kevin Kingston 10. Petero Civoniceva 11. Trent Waterhouse 12. Nigel Plum 13. Luke Lewis

14. Sam McKendry 15. Dayne Weston 16. Nathan Smith 17. Matthew Bell

Very happy for Ryan and Harry to have their first grade debuts! It's pretty much do or die now for Penrith now, and this game is shaping up to be a season defining one. Interesting to see that Nafe Seluini not being named. Possibly be a late inclusion, but no idea at this stage.

Travis Burns 2-4 weeks (Hand)
Lochlan Coote 2-4 weeks (Ankle)

Any news on Luke Lewis? Panthers named a 17 man squad with no designated 18th man so it seems he is certain to play?

Sad to see Petero leaving us at season's end. Good one him. We all knew this could/will happen that he will end his career back at home.

Here are some Penrith rumours around atm

- Adrian Purtell will NOT be offered a new contract. Thank F***. He'd either end up at the Roosters or ESL by 2012.
- David Simmons has re-signed with the Panthers. Two years I believe.
- Despite rumours that Iosefa to Gold Coast is a done deal, Penrith are apparently set to resign him.
- Nathan Smith has been offered a new contract with the Panthers but is on a reduced offer on what he is currently on now. It looks likely that he'd be leaving at season's end as well.
- Quite a few players linked to Panthers including Maurice Blair, Joel Moon, Roy Asotasi and Daniel Mortimer.
