NEW ZEALAND: 15 Mils Muliaina, 14 Joe Rokocoko, 13 Richard Kahui, 12 Ma'a Nonu, 11 Sitiveni Sivivatu, 10 Daniel Carter, 9 Jimmy Cowan; 8 Rodney So'oialo, 7 Richie McCaw (c), 6 Jerome Kaino, 5 Ali Williams, 4 Brad Thorn, 3 Neemia Tialata/ John Afoa 2 Keven Mealamu, 1 Tony Woodcock. Reserves: 16 Corey Flynn / Hika Elliot, 17 Afoa / Tialata, 18 Anthony Boric, 19 Kieran Read, 20 Piri Weepu, 21 Stephen Donald, 22 Isaia Toeava.

No real surprises here. Kahui on for Smith who is injured - though many (not me) would argue that he should be starting anyway.

Woodcock was sited for his punch in the Ireland game and is currently bracketed with Tialata in case he cops a ban. Tialata, however, is also fighting a flu and may not play either. If both are then will likely be Mackintosh & Afoa starting and Franks on the bench - that seems to be the pecking order anyway...

Rokocoko starts for the 3rd consecutive match in a week - back onto his non-favoured right wing position to allow Sivivatu control of the left. Sivivatu will need to back up his performance from the Ireland game IMO as guys like Gear and Tuitavake are still pushing strong claims to partner up with Rokocoko who IMO is back as the top ranked wing.

Nonu is once again in at 12 for a 3rd consecutive test - will he be a defiance case of Henry's "no more than 3 consecutive tests" rule? With his current form - let's hope so!

Cowan has held Piri Weepu off for the starting Halfback role - both are great players and would both deserve to start - though I would like to see Weepu get a real starting role in a test (Scotland didn't count IMO)

Kaino has also staved off his competition in the form of Read and Messam to hold his starting spot - I think he is also needing to show some consistent form to do so.

In naming Williams to start, Henry has broken his own rule to not have players play more than 3 consecutive tests - this will be williams' 4th as he started in HK, Scotland and Ireland already. Good on him Smile

Flynn's still on the bench - WHY?!?!

Boric is still on the bench - WHY?!?!

Donald is still on the bench - WHY?!?!

Breaking News:

Corey Flynn went for an XRay for his troublesome arm and fears are it may be broken.

If so his bench spot will be replaced by Hika Elliot (an upgrade if you ask me) and the ABs will possibly call come for a backup replacement - though with only 1 game left after Wales they may not bother.

If they do, then Dane Coles has been touted as the front runner for his form in the NPC. As a pure backup I have no problem with that - don't wanna see him actually play though; he's not ready.

Arguably, Highlander's Jason MacDonald would be the next cab off the rank purely on experience.

Haha Thats Crazy about Flynn, things are going well for Hika, from not making the squad to be on the bench against the Welsh thats awesome.

Hope Tialata and Woodcock are all good was not impressed with Mackintosh in the Munster game.

I think Aled de Malmanche is better than Coles and MacDonald.

Update:

Woodcock has been cleared of his punching charge and will pack down in the ABs scrum.

Tialata is still in doubt to start due to his 'flu, though the bench listing shows that he'll possibly still play a backup role if not starting.

Corey Flynn is bracketed with Hika Elliot while awaiting confirmation on the status of his arm.

Yes good news, our scrum looks vulnerable without him.

I dunno - Tialata and Afoa pack down well together. Tialata is much stronger at loosehead than tighthead; while he and afoa are about even at tighthead.

Id rather see Elliot get another shot. And Rokocoko should stay on that wing and put Sivivatu to 14. If Sivivatu doesnt perform hopefully Gear gets a shot.
