Halftime in the first battle against the Springboks, the Lions are behind 19 - 7. It's a great game so far, The BEAST! has been on fire in the scrums, old man Vickery is getting owned big time.

Loving this, South African forwards are on fire, just mauled it over for another try, 24 - 7. Paul O'Connell is not a happy man. British Lions have not won a game in a test match since game 1 against Australia in 2001.

Shit that was intense, South Africa managed to hold on and win it 26 - 21.

Good game but ended up being closer than it shouldve of I reckon. Dunno how many of the Bok substitutions were forced by injury of fatigue but they definitely lost cohesion and ryhthm as the bench came on,

Lions midfield of Roberts and O'Driscoll looked dangerous whenever they got clean ball but their forwards were average imo. O'Connell was nowhere near the dominant force he's made out to be.

the South African scrum was amazing in that first half, The Beast and Smit were dominating. Think South Africa just made changes because they thought they had the game won, 19 ahead with 15min to go, they shouldn't of let them back into the game. I think South Africa will dominate in game 2.

The first half was rubbish from the Lions, the forwards were dominated in every aspect of the game, line outs, rucks, mauls and especially in the scrums. They only came back because South Africa made some stupid substitutions. I cant see the Lions winning a single test match this tour.

That first Test was the Lions' best chance of winning a test given the Boks' lack of real preparation - they'll lose by even more in the next one.

Was a great ad for daytime rugby too I thought. Stark contrast to the conditions in the All Black v France game and also the conditions throughout the Lions series back in 05.

SA fans are very lucky with their climate and a timezone that encourages afternoon kickoff times, it all contributes to a great spectacle for events like this.

The Boks are worried!!
16-8 at HT to the Lions and a very well deserved lead at the break
what a fantastic game of rugby which has been very well referred by the frenchman with the whistle given the circumstances i think

dirty dirty play by burger though in the first 30 seconds of the game

Best game of rugby I have seen in ages, a nail biter!! The Boks were behind for atleast 70mins of the game, Fourie scored an awesome try in the corner and they took the lead. Lions got a penalty tying things up at 25-25. Then with a shot at goal from 54m out in the dieing seconds of the game Magic Morne Steyn nails a penalty and the Boks win 28-25. The series is over, and the test losing streak grows to 7 in a row for the Lions.

By running over international rugby's most enduring speed bump... Ronan O'Gara.

Tries hard but seriously, the guy couldn't tackle a one legged pirate.

Fair enough, that was disgusting, one of the dirtiest acts I've seen in a while, what was he thinking. The loose forward trio will still be the best in the Trinations, Heinrich Brussow is a quality substitute, made a big impact when he came on against the Lions.

How about Flutey starting for the Lions? Would he be in with an All Black shot if he was playing the same but still in NZ?? I don't think so.

Well he's best at 12 and we've got Nonu and McAlister both more than capable there, plus the likes of Toeava or Kahui able to slot in as well.
