They have Taumata playing in the QLD cup and Fulton played #6 in the ESL. Untill Lui returns, i think they should go with 1 of the above options.

Fitzhenry should not be in the starting side, he doesn't offer much at all and I think Taumata would be a much better option in the halves.

http://sportal.com.au/league-news-display/odonnell-facing-ban-89300

Cowboys forward Luke O'Donnell is facing a potential four-week suspension following his 'moment of madness' in the loss to Wests Tigers on Saturday night.

The former representative back-rower has been charged with a grade two dangerous contact charge after the NRL's match review committee took a dim view to his neck twisting tackle on Beau Ryan just before half-time.

O'Donnell, who was penalised four times in the match and was sin-binned for the attack on Ryan, had a running verbal battle with referee Gavin Badger throughout the game.

It's the fourth time the fiery O'Donnell has been charged by the MRC in the past two years.

He will receive a three-game ban if he takes the early guilty plea or four matches should he fight the case at the judiciary and lose.

Any suspension would all but end O'Donnell's slim hopes of forcing his way into the NSW State of Origin side for game one on May 26.

A ban would further rock the Cowboys following the potentially long-term loss of champion half-back Johnathan Thurston to a shoulder injury.

Clever hooker Aaron Payne is also looking at time on the sideline after damaging an ankle late in the Cowboys' seven-point loss.

In-form Dragons prop Michael Weyman could miss his team's Round 6 meeting with Gold Coast after being charged with striking during the win over Brisbane on Friday night.

He will be outed for a week if he pleads guilty.

Manly front-rower Brent Kite is looking at a week's enforced absence after carryover points ensured his charge of a careless high tackle on Cronulla winger Blake Ferguson warranted a potential one-match ban.

Carryover points could also cost South Sydney forward Ben Lowe, who is eyeing up to two weeks out of the game for a careless high tackle.

Newcastle centre Junior Sau will escape suspension if he enters an early guilty plea to a dangerous contact (knees/leg) charge.

I think 4 weeks is fair tbh. It was an awful tackle from LOD, mainly out of frustration. He should take the early guilty plea so it's only 3 weeks, because i doubt he will be able to convince the judiciary to decrease his suspension.

Queensland and Australian halfback Johnathan Thurston’s shoulder injury has been diagnosed as a muscle tear, with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys captain expected back on the field in two to three weeks.

Thurston underwent scans today after injuring his left shoulder in the Cowboys v Tigers round 5 match at Dairy Farmers Stadium on Saturday night.

“There’s no structural damage, and the reconstruction to Johnathan’s shoulder is all still intact,” Cowboys General Manager – Football Dean Lance said.

“He’ll be in full-time physio with Billy Johnstone, and once he’s moving without pain, he’ll go back to training with the main squad.”

Thurston is very pleased with the result and will now work towards getting strength back in his shoulder to be fit for a return to the NRL and upcoming representative selection.

“I’m hoping to spend only a couple of weeks on the sideline, and hopefully get the Test and Origin as well,” Thurston said.

Dragons forwards Matt Prior, Jeremy Smith and Jarrod Saffy have all been ruled out for up to 4-6 weeks through injuries suffered in Friday night's win against the Broncos.

Prior and Smith had scans today confirming both players had suffered Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) damage on Friday night, meaning the earliest possible return for either player would be the Dragons Round 10 clash against the Bulldogs.

Scans on Jarrod Saffy's right ankle also confirmed that the hard-running forward would miss 4-6 weeks of football with a high-ankle sprain.

Prior, Smith and Saffy join Nathan Fien and Peni Tagive on the Dragons injured list, with Neville Costigan available for selection this week after recovering from off-season shoulder surgery.

Good to see Issac Luke to finally get the rub of the (red&)green off the judiciary panel, esp after the farce of last year.. Although I'm sure if it was a test match he would of been outed.. Lowe I think would only get a week at worst, and while he has been in great form, we should have Crocker back to help destroy the Eels next week..

Wests Tigers have confirmed talented utility Tim Moltzen won't play again this NRL season after scans revealed a ruptured cruciate ligament.
Results from an MRI on Tuesday confirmed fears Moltzen ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in Saturday's win over North Queensland in Townsville.

The 21-year-old will undergo a knee reconstruction next week.

Tigers coach Tim Sheens will decide later on Tuesday who will replace Moltzen at halfback for Friday night's clash with Canterbury-Bankstown at the Sydney Football Stadium.

Wests are already without Robert Lui (ankle) - who started the season at halfback - until round eight.

Sheens' side will also be without prop Todd Payten for two matches after scans revealed he suffered a grade one calf strain against the Cowboys.

___________________________________________________________________________

Devastating news for the Tigers, losing Moltzen is a savage blow. A few options the Tigers will consider to replace Moltzen should be:

1. Farah to 7, Fitzhenry to hooker
2. Ayshford to 6, Marshall to 7
3. Taumata to play 7

I'm not sure on any of the Tigers under 20 players.

Payne only out for 4-6 weeks.

Quote :
In further good news, the Cowboys are this morning expected to announce Aaron Payne may only be sidelined for between four and six weeks after suffering a lateral ligament tear in his ankle.

Like Thurston, hooker Payne's injury was initially thought to be season-ending. It is a huge boost to North Queensland's NRL premiership aspirations and just as importantly keeps alive Thurston's hopes of playing New Zealand in Melbourne

Manly winger Tony Williams is facing a possible suspension from the NRL club after being charged with drink driving early Monday morning.
Williams was charged with mid-range drink driving after allegedly blowing 0.106 - more than twice the legal limit - when pulled over on the Cumberland Highway in Smithfield early on Tuesday morning.

Williams' licence was immediately suspended and he will face Fairfield Local Court on May 3.

The Sea Eagles have yet to make a decision on whether Williams will be in the line-up for Monday's clash with Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

Sea Eagles chief executive Graham Lowe described Williams' actions as inexcusable.

“It's very regrettable, we're very ashamed of it,” Lowe said.

“He hasn't been suspended yet ... we haven't considered anything yet.”

“We've got a protocol we go through and we'll discuss the options then.”

“It's absolutely inexcusable.''

Williams, 21, joined Manly at the start of last season after being lured from Parramatta on a big-money offer.

Poor form and a serious hamstring injury limited him to just 12 games in 2009, but he has started 2010 in good form for the Sea Eagles.

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys hooker Aaron Payne has been diagnosed with a torn lateral ligament after injuring his ankle during last weekend’s game at Dairy Farmers Stadium.

Cowboys medical staff have indicated that the injury will see Payne out for four to six weeks while he undergoes full time physiotherapy.

“Aaron’s injury is not as bad as we first thought – thankfully his ankle is not broken,” Cowboys General Manager – Football Dean Lance said.

“It’s disappointing for Aaron, given his time out last year with injury, but he’s a workhorse and we know he’ll be doing his best to get back to full fitness as soon as possible.”

Yep, it's been confirmed now. No surprise we lose another star through injury, it's just a constant occurrence these days for us. Hunt to halfback, and if he's not, well Henjak is retarded.
