Its not often New Zealanders cheer on the Wallabies, but for this one I will be. Alot rides on this match, if South Africa get the win Aussie are out of Tri-Nations contention and the Boks extend their lead over the ABs. If Aussie win they keep their Tri-Nations hopes alive, and will keep the All Blacks as the only team to win away.

Unfortunately for the Wallabies (and NZ) they are without captain Stirling Mortlock, Berrick Barnes and Nathan Sharpe. Also Rocky Elsom and James O'Connor are in doubt. It seems Mark Chilsom will come to the bench and Mumm will get a starting spot to replace Sharpe, and either Quade Cooper or Kurtley Beale will be brought in as Barnes replacement.

Squads will be announced later in the week.

With the injuries to the Wallabies and current form of the Boks, I'm tipping South Africa by 9.

When have the Wallabies EVER done us any favours? Springboks by 15 - and both teams' scores to be divisible by 3 Smile

Wallabies squad in thread. As expected Chilsom comes in for Sharpe, and Quade Cooper will be on the bench for Barnes. AAC moves to 12, with Ryan Cross starting at 13. Also Hynes gets the starting spot over Mitchell, I thought if Hynes was to start it would have been for Turner.

Oh and Al Baxter is on the bench Very Happy

SA Lineup:

South Africa: Ruan Pienaar, JP Pietersen, Jaque Fourie, Jean de Villiers, Bryan Habana, Morne Steyn, Fourie du Preez, Pierre Spies, Juan Smith, Heinrich Brussow, Victor Matfield, Bakkies Botha, John Smit (captain), Bismarck du Plessis, Tendai Mtawarira. Reserves: Chiliboy Ralepelle, Jannie du Plessis, Andries Bekker, Schalk Burger, Ricky Januarie, Adi Jacobs, Frans Steyn.

big surprise of Pienaar at Fullback over Francois Steyn. Further proof that de Villiers has a massive hard-on for him but obviously can't justify dropping Morne Steyn from pivot.

Haha was just about to post that sqaud. PDV is a joke. Francois has been pretty good throughout the trinations so far. Maybe Francois is being punished for occasionaly running the ball instead of just sticking to the game plan of kick kick kick!!

Also glad that they haven't rushed Burger back into the starting line-up, Heinrich Brussouw has been on fire and definitely deserves to keep the starting spot

Yeah - Burger needs to earn a recall, and right now the only person I see him being able to take out would be Smith - except that would then stunt their lineout...

haha they can afford to lose a bit in the line out though, Matfield and Botha have that well covered. I reckon 60mins we'll see Smith go of for Burger.

Very true - but having 3 legitimate lineout options is a HUGE boost over having 2.

How has Spies been going - I haven't really watched any of the SA games thus far...

He been a bit quiet. Yet to perform as good as he did for the Bulls this year, still definitely been good enough to keep his starting spot.

Should be an interesting game. South Africa will get plenty of support over in Western Australia. With the injuries Australia are facing I think South Africa will be too good, and win by a margin of 6 or less

I only caught the second half replay and from what I saw of it Aussie were decent in attack but it was all too little too late. 7 tries in the match! that is HUGE for international union these days.

I saw the first half only and stopped watching because Aus were so awful. The 3 tries in that half came from very average play from the wallabies, not so much from SA being good but I guess they took their opportunities well

Yea that was a pretty poor performance by them. Conceding the first try to a quick tap penalty by du Preez wasnt a good sign, showed they just weren't switched on for some reason.

And we hardly ever see tries scored direct from a set piece these days too, even at S14 level, but the Wallabies somehow gave up two of them? Fourie waltzing through untouched was especially bad.

But gees, got to give a lot of respect to the Boks. They not only won away from home, which was supposed to be a weakness for them, they did it by completely changing their game plan.

d4m this boks side is dangerous. now not only do they have the best kicking game but they have an awesome running game. dunno how ABs will beat them, might have to take a leaf outta the boks book and turn it inot a brawl

gittaeu absolutely suk'd. he just wasnt into it. gave away that try to fourie, missed some kicks at goal and just didnt step up. had that one try but real late and impotent

in fact aus were lucky that bryceLawrence suk'd so much. couldnt figure out why he kept penalising the boks scrum when they were clearly dominant

oh well least we got the bledisloe

WTF?!?! your kidding right?!? greegan was the best HB of the modern era and still the best to this day (tho hard to compare cos he's not playing)
cant believe your clumbing greegan and burgess in the same catergory. burgess absolutely sux and was a major contributer to that loss. greegan singlehandedly won games
